Job Description

Your mission As an Employee Relations Manager at Standard Chartered Bank, reporting to the Head of ER for Europe & Americas, you will be an integral part of the Europe & Americas team and support the Banks ER mission to drive a more inclusive and high-performing culturethrough the effective resolution of sensitive and complex people-related matters. What you will do

  • You will develop strong relationships with your stakeholders and advise and manage Employee relations activities under our six pillars: driving positive behaviour; addressing concerns and resolving conflict; supporting high performance; optimising organisationalchange and structure; managing industrial relations; and fostering sustainable working.
  • You will also get involved in and sometimes drive ad hoc ER projects for the Region and contribute where requested to the Global ER agenda and other ER leadership team initiatives.
  • You will build your network and establish your credibility as a trusted and collaborative ER expert and liaise closely with other teams such as Employee Advocacy colleagues (including D&I, Wellbeing & employee listening; International Mobility, Resourcing,Performance, Reward & Benefits, Employment Legal, Shared Investigation Services & Compliance etc).
  • You will work with existing Standards, processes, templates and provide your ideas to identify any ongoing opportunities for improvement or simplification.
  • You will always ensure we adhere to the regulatory and legal framework as well as internal governance and controls.
  • You will upskill, train and brief for HR partners, People Leaders etc on ER related topics.
  • You will also work with ER Operations to analyse and share data insights with key HR and business stakeholders to identify trends.
  • Ultimately you will be supporting our colleagues and our People leaders which helps the Bank to meet its business ambitions.
About you
  • You are passionate about employee relations and already have a proven ER track record
  • You have a strong client focused mindset and excellent UK employment law knowledge and FCA/PRA regulations (employment law qualification, FS experience and CIPD membership are advantageous).
  • You are a great communicator and can demonstrate high resilience.
  • You have strong influencing skills and adept at dealing with difficult or complex situations.
  • You have high standards and wish to join a collaborative and high performing team in a brilliant organisation.
