EMEA ORM Capital Governance Framework Operational Risk Manager, VP

Job Description

The primary function of Operational Risk Management ("ORM") is to focus on the identification, management, and mitigation of operational risk. The role is to support the EMEA ORM Capital Governance Framework Operational Risk Manager Head across capital governance and framework management, and regulatory interaction related to operational risks related to the EMEA legal entities, working effectivelywith partners and stakeholders in the first, second and third lines of defence. Key Responsibilities:This is a key role within the EMEA ORM organisation and will involve working with colleagues regionally, while holding key responsibilities to Support EMEA ORM efforts around Capital and Operational Risk Framework initiatives including but not limited to:

• Obtain approval of Operational Risk Capital for Material Legal Entities in EMEA as required
• Standardisation of Op Risk ICAAP Input across EMEA
• Standardisation of frameworks and maintenance of Local Legal Vehicle documentation in line with Citi requirements
• Prepare/collate Operational Risk reports and committee materials at relevant legal entity / regional governance meetings
• Contribute to EMEA Legal Vehicles Pillar III disclosures, Recovery Plans, etc
• Work on the implementation of SMA in the EMEA Region
• Regulatory driven strategic priorities where ORM are either the lead or a major contributor
• Research / draft responses to regulatory and senior management operational risk related queries
• Delivery of EMEA Regulatory reporting
• Internal & external audit interaction and coordination, representing ORM in interactions with auditors and regulators.
• Support a variety of ORM governance and regulatory deliverables including building an effective representation of operational risks in all material committees and management meetings
• Work with key ORM partners to proactively manage and mitigate risks, and provide effective challenge as appropriate

Knowledge/Experience:

• Strong business knowledge front to back, with a deep understanding of Operational Risk and associated regulatory frameworks would be beneficial.
• Understanding of Operational Risk Capital and stress testing methodology and tools.
• ICAAP Experience beneficial.
• Strong technical knowledge in Operational Risk Frameworks and experience of framework design and implementation.
• Experience in strategic planning and project management.
• Experience in dealing with and delivery of regulatory projects.
• Strong familiarity with the regulatory expectations facing EMEA banks.
• Experience in dealing with change projects and/or building / delivering new capabilities.
• A proven track record of liaising across diverse stakeholder groups; including senior managers, and large firm networks.
• 7+ years of experience in Risk Management or Internal Audit
• College/university education preferred

Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communications skills, with a commanding and convincing delivery, and the ability to synthesize complex concepts, translate into user friendly language and effectively present in long-form documents or slide format.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to understand drivers and overcome barriers.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume and complex environment with changing priorities and a practical solutions-driven approach.
• Adept with Microsoft office suite in particular; Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong quantitative skills, particularly around statistics and strong attention to detail.
• Experience delivering regulatory reports and papers for Senior Management and Boards. Operationalising these returns and creating robust processes to ensure accurate and consistent delivery.
