Job Description

City of Portsmouth College has been formed by the merger of Portsmouth Collegeand Highbury College and was formally constituted on 1 August 2021. The newly formed College will give students of all ages even greater flexibility with their programmes andaccess to dedicated subject facilities at the different campus locations. The joint organisation will also expand a uniquely flexible curriculum offer within the city of Portsmouth, comprising A Levels, vocational diplomas, apprenticeships and higher educationqualifications. Team working and communications within an overall approach that values people will be of key important. Some of the main roles and responsibilities for this position are: To teach on a range of College programmes across the Level 1Pathways provision, providing high quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students and groups in line with the Colleges strategic priorities and objectives. To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor,track and record student retention, achievement and success To contribute to the development and delivery of high quality, relevant curriculum and programmes To act as a Programme Leader for designated programmes To provide academic and pastoral support foridentified groups of students Delivering practical and theory sports sessions to students working at Level 1 and 2 The role requires an individual who has well developed organisational, communication and team working skills. They must also be able to meettargets and deadlines. The role is for 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year based at our Highbury Campus. You will need to have or be working towards a teaching qualification and a sports related qualification Experience ofworking in a range of differentsports delivery Commitment to the development of the Sports delivery at Highbury Campus Experience of working with Entry / Level 1 students would be highly beneficial Be flexible and self-motivated with a dedication to student achievement and quality.
