Job Description

We have an exciting 12m FTC opportunity for an E-Grade Nurse to join our Digestive Diseases Unit (DDU) department based at The London Clinic main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1200 employees, a total of 8 premises, and we are dedicated to providing the best, personalised healthcare with a breadth of surgical and medical expertise.Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive and day surgery theatres. The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and dedicated patient bedroomsJob DescriptionAs part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder is responsible for the assessment, evaluation and implementation of care given to patients.Job TypeThis is a 12m fixed-term contract working 37.5 hours per week, working days, nights and weekends.SalaryThe attractive salary for this role is £33,687 - £43,767 (inclusive of London Weighting & COLA) and will be dependent upon skills and experience.Benefits packageWe offer a comprehensive package which includes a contribution pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%), Private Medical Healthcare, 25 day’s annual leave plus bank holidays, season ticket travel loan, and a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers and services.   • To take responsibility for individualised patient care as the named nurse, using the Roper, Logan and Tierney model and documentation for the department.
  • To ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these
  • To promote safe practice and professional conduct.
  • To encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
  • To be flexible with regard to staffing, i.e. deputising for Sister/ Charge Nurse or assisting in other areas or on other floors as required.
  • To participate in department meetings to enhance team communication.

  • Registered Nurse
  • NMC registered
  • A minimum of 6 months post registration experience in Gastrointestinal - Colorectal Surgery
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of gastroenterology conditions and interventions.
  • Able to demonstrate high standards of clinical practice.
