Job Description

Hospital Porters - Drivers - Security Drivers/ Immediate Start - On Going / Temporary Assignment / NHS / Good Rates Of Pay / DBS Check Essential / London AreaNC Associates are currently looking to recruit a number of hospital porters - drivers to work for various boroughs and hospitals within the NHS due to the COVID 19 virus. These roles will be ongoing and require candidates to be immediate to start and you Must hold a full driving license and be DBS checked.Drivers

  • Transport high risk patients and escorting staff to a pre determined destination. Liaise with courts, prisons, RSUs, hospitals for arrival times and schedule changes at short notice. Which may include staying away from home overnight and working overtime where necessary.
  • Dealing with high profile escorts and associated public interest. Be able to perform close contact driving at speed with the police service.
  • Collection and delivery of patient property prior to the transfer of the patient out of the hospital. This may involve separate trips.
  • To make sure all the details of inward and outward journeys are entered on the appropriate log sheets.
  • Ensure that keys are secured in the transport key press when not in use. Ensure that all mileage is logged for every journey.
  • Complete a daily walk round and defect checks and completing the vehicle log sheets appropriately. Making sure all vehicles have fuel, water, oil, screen wash etc.
  • Ensure that any defects are reported to the Facilities Supervisor. Decommission any defective vehicles from service and liaise with the Facilities Supervisor to assess repairs needed. Any repairs and associated paperwork must be taken to transport and Sustainability Officer for filing.
  • Liaise with senior staff to book vehicles in for MOT and servicing when required. Make sure all vehicles carry an in date tax disc.
  • Clean hospital vehicles on a regular basis. Ensure that there is an adequate supply of oil, screen wash and other consumables for the day to day use and maintains a record of all materials (e.g. oil, anti-freeze etc.) and record all issues

  • Collection of linen and rubbish from wards and take to the appropriate area for disposal in line with Trust policy.
  • To sort and distribute internal and external mail to wards and offices.
  • The lifting, handling, transportation of goods including food, beds bedding, newspapers, furniture and waste.
  • Provide a postal distribution service for staff and patients and where appropriate assisting in the Postroom to sort and process mail.
  • Maintenance of portering vehicles and equipment, ensuring weekly audit documentation is completed and any damage / defects are reported to the line manager.
    • Experience RequiredTo be successful in your application for these roles you must have the following experience
  • SIA Frontline Manned Guarding Licence Or NVQ level 2 Security
  • Current Driving License valid for GB with category B, C1 and D entitlement
  • Computer literate
