Job Description

District Heating ManagerLondon£65,000 + car allowancePRSare delighted to be working on this vacancy on behalf of ourclient, aspecialistengineering company in thedistrictheating and renewable energy sector.We are recruiting for a District Heating Managerwithexperiencewithin the CHP and District Heating industry,to join this uniqueorganisationwhoprovidebespokeengineeringsolutions.In this role,youwill be field based covering the UK and reporting into the Operations Director.Youwill assist in supporting the Operational Services Team with technical and commercial input to project implementation, bid generation and opportunity scoping.As well as this,youwill carry out technical surveys in commercial plant rooms ranging from 100KW to 3MW,and it isexpectedthat youwill have a strong understanding of hydraulic systems within plantrooms and associated control systems,whichwill enable designs to be completed to allow the integration of green energies such as commercial air source heat pumps into existing systems.Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Carry out high level technical surveys of existing plant rooms with a focus on integrating renewable technologies into these plant rooms.
  • Ability to survey and understand hydraulic layout of gas fired plant rooms from 100kw to 2 mw.
  • Good understanding of control systems to allow other technologies i.e., commercial air source heat pumps to be integrated into the existing systems.
  • Performing other administrative functions, including reviewing, and writing reports, preparing, and interpreting specifications.
  • Presenting, explaining, and costing proposals, reports and findings to internal/external customers.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of commercial heating systems would be an advantage.
  • Commercial aspects of projects i.e., developing tenders.
  • Collate technical and commercial information from manufacturers/suppliers.
  • To ensure understanding ofquality and environmental management systems and to work according to their requirements.
  • To be aware of the environmental aspects and impacts relevant to the work of the job holder as well as ensuring compliance with any environmental legislation that is applicable to the job.

  • Ensure allactivities are GDPR compliant.
    • Thesuccessfulcandidate will have the following skills andqualifications:
  • Accredited Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Commercial Gas Safe qualification.
  • Experience of engineering/energy analysis
  • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Experience of modelling energy and carbon emissions
  • Experience of Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, system design and renewable energy technologysuch as:
    • o CHPo Heat Pumpso Communal Heating Systemso District Heating Systemso Commercial Plant rooms
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and knows when to seek guidance.
  • Good communicator, quick to build rapport with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Organisedwith good time management skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly MS Office (Excel and Word)
  • Willing to travel.
