• Since the founding of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in 1990, BlackRocks focus has been to enhance outcomes, returns, convenience, value, and transparency for our insurance partners and deliver holistic portfolio solutions.
• As of June 2022, we manage US$403 billion in general account assets on behalf of insurers and have a dedicated team of insurance portfolio managers, relationships managers, actuaries, and strategies to deliver the breadth of BlackRocks global resources.We also leverage Aladdin®, BlackRocks proprietary technology platform and risk analytics, to support our insurance clients.
• The team in EMEA represents more than 20 professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise in the many functions that, combined, make this effort successful. These include relationship management, markets, sales, strategy, regulatory, client service,and product development next to comprehensive insurance knowledge.
• FIG EMEA operates as part of a global FIG, which is the insurance specialised centre of excellence that delivers BlackRocks differentiated strategy and global platform to Insurers.
• The business expectations are such that the team is passionate about first-class client coverage and further improving, evolving and developing existing relationships. This new role supplies an opportunity for an individual to become an important memberof a growing team, helping to shape the strategic direction of part of the business.

Job Purpose/Background:We are looking for someone to take a leading role in FIGs European client coverage, which is of significant focus for the FIG team globally. The role will be responsible for strategic engagement with insurance clients across the UK and Continental Europe,with a focus on the UK, delivering whole portfolio and transformational solutions. The role will be multi-functional, allowing the successful candidate to leverage and, where relevant, develop: an in-depth understanding of the workings of the insurance industry (assets, liabilities and regulation) an understanding of BlackRocks suite of solutions and investment products and their applicability to address client needs an expertise in a broad rangeof asset classes from investment grade fixed income, through to equities and alternatives potential cross border exposure and client focus as FIG deepens its coverage and expertise throughout Europe Responsibilities:

• Work as a leading member of the client team in supplying first class coverage to the FIG EMEA client base.
• Ensure optimal client service function through proactive engagement on queries, generation of ideas and implementation of new procedures where appropriate.
• Drive business expansion opportunities by cultivating existing relationships with senior client stakeholders in the relevant organisations
• Help create market leading content and operate as a subject matter expert on relevant topics in the insurance ecosystem.
• Develop the partnership between FIG and its internal business stakeholders to improve delivery of operational and investment projects, improve the client offering and overall quality of delivery for clients
• Responsible for prompt internal and external updates on client and regulatory developments, client earnings and other results

Knowledge/Experience:

• Proven record of accomplishment in insurance and financial markets client coverage. We envisage the ideal candidate coming from within Asset Management, Investment/Actuarial Consulting or Insurance.
• Technical product and market knowledge across capital markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles
• Strong background in project management and proven ability to deliver on bespoke and time sensitive projects
