At the end of 2020, S&P DJI estimates that USD 13.5 trillion was indexed or benchmarked to the S&P 500 alone.The Role: The US Equity Indices Product Management team is seeking a Director to support and promote our core index franchise. This role will oversee some of the most iconic indices in the world including the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA)as well as core, style (value & growth), sector & industry, and equal weight indices. The Team: This role will report to the Head of US Equity Indices, based in the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity to build a small team in London. The intention is forthe new Director to hire a second team member in London within a year of hire date. Whats in it for you: The opportunity to be a global spokesperson for the worlds most prominent and important indices Learn how indices are key components of the investmentmanagement industry, acting as the basis of the largest and most successful ETFs and mutual funds High visibility to senior leaders within our organization and at our key clients A challenging but rewarding role that requires collaboration with a wide rangeof internal teams A high degree of variety where no two days are the same Responsibilities: Act as a global brand ambassador and spokesperson Create product strategies, develop product positioning, and help to drive the commercial success of our franchise,especially outside of the U.S. Quickly become a subject matter expert on index methodologies Proactively promote our indices via webinars, conferences, media appearances, and client meetings Publish thought leadership including presentations, papers, blogs,index analysis, and commentary Oversee the new index launch process Partner with client coverage and channel management to strengthen our relationships with all client types Collaborate with a wide range of internal teams including research & design, marketing,the client experience team, governance, the index management and production group, and communications. What were looking for: Undergraduate degree or equivalent in finance or a related field A good understanding of the investment process, investment managementindustry, portfolio theory, and financial markets Proven track record in product development and/or research Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail First class communication skills - written, verbal and presenting Fluencyin English Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Skills and Experience: Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant field Progress towards a CFA charter Knowledge of indexing, passive investing and understanding of S&P DJIcore equity indices Programming skills (Python, VBA, others) Knowledge of analytical platforms such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MSCI / Barra, or Axioma S&P Dow Jones Indices S&P Dow Jones Indices, a leading brand of the S&P Global, maintains a widevariety of investable and benchmark indices to meet an array of investor needs.
