They work for companies, investors, government agencies and civil society organisations. Whether helping companies predict, adapt to, or shape policy or regulatory change, what defines their work is a strong belief that good public policymatters.Our client has teams based in Brussels, Doha, London, Singapore and Washington DC, backed by an international network.The opportunityThis is a new role created in response to unprecedented political focus on the energy transition and decarbonisation of industry. We are looking for a leader with personal drive and commercial awareness. They will develop and deliver actionable advice thattakes into account both the expectations of policymakers and the realities for businesses adapting their business models, drawing on research from colleagues and partners.In this new role, you will be expected to provide tailored and compelling counsel to clients at every level - from the C-Suite to public policy teams and investor relations managers - about the risks and opportunities for corporates and investors. Our clientsadvice on these issues is global, but with a particular focus within the EU and UK. There is considerable scope to define and prioritise between sectors and potential clients, ranging from agriculture to power generation or transport, depending on the backgroundof the successful candidate.The role is a unique opportunity to build and enhance your reputation for analysis and strategic advice while also contributing to the continued growth of a fast-paced and innovative young company. You will be supported by an able team of policy consultantsand analysts who are already part of a strong set of practices.Key responsibilities

• Provide expert, strategic and actionable advice and thought leadership to clients on the risks and opportunities from regulation and the political cross-winds in the field of the energy transition, climate and sustainability
• Tailor that advice to clients ranging from financial institutions to fund managers, and from energy majors to multinational manufacturers as well as technology startups.
• Further enhance our suite of products and services and develop new ways of promoting them to potential clients, as well as leading campaigns and pitch processes that draw on the full range of our clients capabilities.
• Deepen our expertise in areas of growing importance, such as state aid policies, given the scale of public investment requirements in this area, and pursue and win advisory mandates alongside senior leadership.
• Work with our existing client base of global corporations and investors and contribute to mandates related to sustainability, ESG and disclosures, and industrial strategy.
• Coach and develop the talents of team members.
• Build and maintain relationships with a wider network of businesses, policymakers, trade bodies and other stakeholders at senior levels.

Skills and profile

• Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the policy agendas and political dynamics driving initiatives such as the European Green Deal, GB Energy and multilateral fora such as the UNFCCC.
• A track record of effective team leadership and development, ideally in a diverse multinational environment.
• The personal drive and commercial awareness to develop and execute a growth strategy, with strong support and resources from the wider team and external partners as needed.
• You may have a background in public sector policymaking and/or private sector public policy advice in a company, investment firm or trade association. You will need to have direct experience of working for or alongside consultancies in some form.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English. Competence in other European languages is highly desirable.
