Digital Communications ManagerThe Henry Jackson Society (HJS) is the UKs boldest think tank and policy-shaping force, constantly ahead of the curve on the big issues of international and domestic importance, and they are expanding. They are looking for a new Digital Communications Manager to join them on the next stage of their organisational journey, which has already taken them to the status of a household name in the international political and media constellation.Their mission is to be a force that fights for the principles and alliances which keep societies free - working across borders and party lines to combat extremism, advance democracy and fundamental human rights, and make a stand in an increasingly uncertain world.The RoleThe Digital Communications Manager will be a key member of the communications team. Working closely with Director of Operations and Finance (DOF) and the Director of Communications (DoC), the Digital Communications Manager will spend their time promoting the organisations output, working with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to write, implement and deliver on a new digital communications and marketing strategy.This role will help improve the external communications and relations for the Henry Jackson Society, working with management and research teams, and within the communications team, to conceive ideas, build engagement strategy and execute communication through various digital media channels. The role will also play a crucial part in delivering HJS ambitious events programme - promoting, filming, broadcasting, and finding new ways to share content from their events.What they are looking forThe ideal candidate will have a proactive and ambitious approach, the ability to marry the detail-oriented and fast-paced nature of the job in building awareness. They will also have interest in and support for HJS, its initiatives, projects and policies. Serving as one of the organisations media point-people and external representatives, you will play a major part in identifying and exploiting communications and political opportunities, working with management and the research team in producing material, managing creative output and developing the organisations financial base. Part of the role will involve creating and filming video content, some of which will be animated.The role will see a major expansion of HJS digital communications. As such, exploring new and innovative techniques will be a core part of the role. Theyre looking for a self-starter who is not afraid to try new things and who has a passion for explaining policy ideas.Responsibilities
