Job Description

Description of the TeamFinance team at Societe Generale London Branch in the UK is responsible for the financial management, oversight, production and reporting. You will be joining a team that oversees the regulatory and financial framework for a branch of one of Europes leadingfinancial services groups.The RoleIt requires the person to work closely with UK CFO, DFIN UK COO on Transversal DFIN UK items and with UK deputy CFO focusing on specific SGLB items.The level of Seniority required is Director.Summary of ResponsibilitiesTransversal DFIN UK

  • Provide support to the UK CFO in the execution of their SMR oversight of their responsibilities Ensure the governance of Finance is in line with the regulatory expectations and support of senior manager responsibilities
  • Responsible for the Regulatory Watch and the implementation of new regulations for Finance
React to changes in the regulatory environment, review updates for applicability and assessment of the impacts of changes to the regulatory framework across the UK platform, represent Finance and prepare Finance contributions to branch wide legal & regulatorydevelopment forums (LRDT).Ensure implementation of new regulatory requirements for Finance (both in the UK and EU), leveraging on DFIN project management team (DTO)
  • Prepare and update the Finance department budget and forecast.
  • Responsible for the monthly Finance department financials including analysing, monitoring and preparation of the month end financial pack, including headcount reporting.
  • Act as Secretary for the key Finance Committees
  • Provide co-ordination and oversight of level 1 controls and the relationship with level 2 control team.
  • Define and implement Data and Digital strategy with CFOs and DFIN COO leveraging on UK DFIN/DTO Digital team and Paris DFIN/DTO Data team
DFIN SGLB
  • Responsible for maintaining the Booking Model and Controls Policy - ensuring there is adequate oversight on the booking model control framework.
  • Responsible for the SGLB Chapter of the Group Recovery and Resolution Plan
  • Compute regulatory fees.
  • Analyse and report the monthly SGLB P&L performance.
  • Contribute to /Manage transversal processes for SGLB - RCSA, business continuity, communication and compliance/HR initiatives.
PROFILE REQUIRED
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry and regulatory environment for third Country Branches.
  • Interest and curiosity to learn a complex regulatory area using the exposure to subject matter experts and real-world application of the rules.
  • Desire to be involved in a regulatory area subject to intense scrutiny.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills and passion for developing collaborative relationships.
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
