Job Description

About us:The Flash Pack is a technical production partner and event technology specialist. Our core areas of expertise are delivering IRL content experiences, concept realisation (physical and digital), software development and bespoke fabrication.We work with some of the world’s best creative agencies and also direct to brands. Clients include Google, Dyson, Burberry, IBM, Mastercard, Amplify, Spotify, Swingers, Apple, YouTube, Vans and more.Overview:We are a close team of 12 currently with plans to grow over the next year. This is an exciting time to join the team. We also offer flexible working and the ability to work from home up to two days a week. Our studio is in SE London.You will be working with both technicians and developers to facilitate the setup of our photographic installations. Training will be given, but we expect the individual to be a self-starter, as the central part of the role requires problem-solving involvingthe more technical aspects of an installation.Duties:Application Systems Setup:

  • Install and configure Linux / Ubuntu computers, setup and manage computer networks and VPNs
  • Configure and test devices such as cameras, printers, touchscreens etc.
  • Write scripts (bash, python etc.) to automate repetitive tasks such as power scheduling, disk cleanup, fault alerts etc.
Application Systems Support:
  • Monitor remote installs and provide some technical support when needed
  • Diagnose common hardware and networking issues
  • Implement and maintain security best practices
Application Setup:
  • Collaborate with the development team to deploy and test custom applications
  • Configure applications using YAML config files and system services
  • Assist with the development of frontend UIs using HTML / VueJS
  • Develop Python scripts and plugins to enable bespoke functionality
Desired skills and qualities:
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for all things technical and a willingness to learn
  • A desire to take on tasks and a willingness to develop the necessary skills
  • Basic knowledge of production equipment and technology and a solid eagerness to stay updated
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Adept at managing time and tasks, even in high-pressure situations, and open to handling multiple projects concurrently
  • A people-oriented mindset with the ability to interact with clients, team members, and colleagues effectively
  • Familiarity with basic project management principles and a willingness to learn and adapt to project management and budget management software in the future
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when a project delivery is needed at these times
Entry requirements:The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
  • A Level in STEM subject, or
  • BTEC Diploma in STEM subject, or
  • Level 3 IT apprenticeship
