About the team The Developer Experience team is committed to reduce friction in the engineering workflow by providing the tooling and platforms that makes engineers happy in their day to day work and enables them to move fast. We sit inside the larger Reliability & Infrastructure team and work alongside and closely with the SRE Core Practices team. Were currently growing and looking to hire by strengthening our capabilities in our Developer Experience tooling, maintaining ourcurrent tools and platforms, and developing new tools for FC engineers. We are a group of passionate engineers whose bread and butter is learning new technologies and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment - were looking for people who feel the same. What you will be doing

• Be an automator: were using cutting-edge technology to facilitate automation and repeatability. We practise continuous integration and are working towards continuous deployment.
• Be a builder: our engineers are building and expanding our highly-available architecture to handle over $2 billion in loans originated through our pipeline.
• Be a game changer: were building infrastructure that has a competitive edge; were using technologies such as Kubernetes, Apache Kafka , Serverless
• Be a collaborator: youll be expected to forge deep bonds with your engineering counterparts to truly understand the needs of Funding Circle engineers. You will become an advocate for our tooling, driving adoption within our development teams and understandingtheir needs to create new tooling that they will love to use. We work in an Agile environment including pair programming and daily standups.
• Be an Innovator: Youll be creating new tooling for Funding Circle engineers to interact with infrastructure, abstracting the complexity of cloud infrastructure, allowing them to be able to self-serve and build, test, and run their applications.
• Be a Pragmatist: Who is keenly interested in best practices, reducing TOIL and knowing when to make trade offs and why.

Are you

• Knowledgeable and experienced with building, running and supporting Kubernetes clusters in a highly available, high traffic Production environment
• Proven experience with AWS Services (EC2, VPCs, RDS, Aurora, Elasticache, IAM, Lambda, Config)
• Experience deploying to AWS with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Familiar with one or more coding languages, preferably Go, Python, Ruby, JavaScript (Node)
• At ease troubleshooting in complex environments using monitoring and logging tools (We use Grafana, Loki, Open Telemetry, Prometheus to name a few)
