Job Description

Today we employ over 6,000 people across North America, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Asia Pacific.The opportunityBe a part of our development business that currently has in excess of 5 million sq. ft. of live development activity in progress, with a forecast exit GDV in excess of £1.75bn. We combine a unique blend of people, skills and knowledge, backed by a strong balance sheet and reputation for delivering top quality buildings for landowners in both the public and private sectors across the UK.Mace is an international consultancy and construction company, founded and built on exceptional people, a commitment to service excellence and an entrepreneurial spirit.Our development business creates and manages a portfolio of development schemes that through a combination of development management fees, rents and development returns, contributes to the stable and sustainable growth of Mace while providing consistent double-digit investor performance.Reporting to the CEO of development, with operational accountability for leading a variety of developments across the UK where Mace are either the sole or part investor or as development manager direct for an investor or landowner.Although the initial focus is the leadership of a £1bn mixed-use development, it is anticipated that the role will provide the opportunity to work on at least one other project concurrently.In this role, you will lead on all development-related matters from tendering through to financial and investment matters related to the scheme, including advising the CEO on strategic direction and taking responsibility for managing the P&L.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, each at varying stages of the development cycle.
  • Managing pre-let and leasing activity.
  • Working with internal and external advisors and PM teams through design, planning, procurement and delivery phases.
  • Managing the development and project management processes to both time and budget.
  • Assisting with due diligence on new purchases.
  • Providing financial and development appraisals and cashflow modelling.
  • Maintaining an effective client relationship/account management.
  • Being the face of Mace in dealings with investors and landowners.
  • Managing procurement and sales strategy input.
  • Supervising day to day management for all planning, design and commercial activities.
  • Maximising value through a detailed understanding of a diverse range of asset classes.
  • Controlling and overseeing development budgets, cost plans and financial models.
