Job Description

As a Barclays Developer, you will work closely with business. You will be located on the trading floor next to the risk managers. Requirements are given fast and iteratively, so an interest in the business and pragmatic use of technology to hit the optimumsolution is essential. For this role, you will also need to be able to analyse the requirements as well as develop a robust solution. What will you be doing Developing software tools and applications in a global team environment Interpreting market risk requirements and turning them into technical solutions Working independently and handling multiple tasks in a fast pace environment Communicating clearly with different Risk Management teams and effectively managing stakeholder expectations Liaising with technology and business stakeholders in order to provide information, coordination, and/or status reports on various projects Interacting and collaborating with Equity Market Managers on the trading floor Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements What were looking for: Bachelors degree or higher (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or equivalent) Broad technical knowledge and understanding across a variety of programming languages, libraries, formats and platforms In depth C# knowledge including both client and server Excellent SQL (T-SQL, MS SQL Server 2012 or higher) skills Skills that will help you in the role: Further study/ongoing education of any form in relation to this role Experience in developing technical solutions to business requirements in a Risk/Finance environment Advanced VBA/excel skills WPF and ASP.Net knowledge Where will you be workingIn the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
