Job Description

2nd / 3rd Line Desktop Support, Application Support, Trade Floor Support - Powershell, Python, SQL, Financial / BankingWorking in a Technology Driven Hedge Fund you will be providing 1st to 3rd Line Support from the Desktop to the Servers - Windows and Linux and the Network / Exchange Connectivity Paying in the £70 to £130k region + Excellent Bonus + Benefits.Candidates will have excellent knowledge of the Underlying OSs and must have at least one strong Scripting language. Experience of Low Latency / HFT Algorithmic Trading Systems would be highly advantageous along with Exchange / FIX Connectivity.Required Skills:

  • Troubleshooting aptitude 2nd to none - someone who enjoys the technical challenge and finding resolutions to complex problems.
  • Experience providing Financial Application / Trade Floor Support including installation / configuration, upgrading and troubleshooting both in person and remotely (via phone, e-mail, IM).
  • Extensive experience of at least one Scripting Language - Powershell, Python, Ruby, JavaScript,Perl, SQL, Bash.
  • In depth knowledge of Databases (DBA / Developer level would be good) including writing and troubleshooting SQl Code including performance issues - SQL Server / Oracle.
  • Strong background in Windows and Linux/Unix OSs - Desktop and Server - including supporting numerous Applications on mixed Windows / Linux Server platforms.
  • Strong Linux / Unix Systems Administration (Redhat, Centos) is highly desirable.
  • General Networking / Infrastructure Troubleshooting and Diagnostics - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls
  • Ability work well under pressure in a vibrant and busy environment.
Non Essential But Highly Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience supporting Futures & Options Trading, Risk and Settlement Systems.
  • Linux / Unix System Administration - RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris.
  • Any experience of BIOS / Kernel Tuning and Optimization and any DevOps experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of at least one of the ISVs products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Euronext, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
  • Experience in Exchange and Vendor Management with a view to project managing exchange/system critical upgrades
