Job Description

£55,000-£60,000 per annum + benefitsMy Client a large UK company is looking to recruit an experienced Desktop Architect to come and join their expanding function on a permanent basis and be based either in Leeds, London or Birmingham.In terms of the finer details, the primary purpose is to ensure that the end user Estate is fully able to meet the needs of both existing and future business requirements. Where gaps are identified in these capabilities the Role holder will need to facilitate the development of appropriate standards, Solutions and best practices to ensure the required objectives are met.Role & Responsibilities

  • defining and documenting the principals, policies and standards for End User computing.
  • Plan and manage the different phases of design work, requirements gathering, high level design, low level design, technical design reviews, post implementation reviews.
  • Create low level designs, with support from end user designs.
  • Perform post implementation reviews to validate builds against design.
    • The ideal Desktop Architect will be able to offer the following:
  • Microsoft system Centre (SCCM, Intune, MEM) and Application packaging
  • Azure AD/OneDrive/Desktop Group Policy/MFA
  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems/Office365/End Point Protection
  • Cisco LAN/WAN/WiFi
  • Knowledge of Cloud based offerings - including Azure and AWS.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technology to be able to advice on a selection of optimal solutions to business problems.
  • Infrastructure design, maintenance and support techniques and procedures
  • ITIL Service management principles.
  • IT Security awareness/Knowledge
  • Understanding of software licensing and software license management
  • Knowledge of IT Accreditation standards including iso27001 and CE+
  • Solutions High/Low level design
    • Have experience in the Following:
  • Experience of developing and implementing operational processes and procedures.
  • Experience of Problem Change and Release Management processes.
  • Experience of working in a Diverse / complex end user estate.
  • Experience of Working in Environments that Require Accreditation (including ISO 27001 , Ce+)
  • Experience of Patching and controlling Large environments over Multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of supporting both Cloud and on premises environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply professional techniques in a commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Developing and implementing operational processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
  • Working with Senior level stakeholder management.
    • Even better if you have qualifications in the following:
  • Citrix Administrator
  • Cisco (CCNA / CCNP)
