About Motorsport Network:Motorsport Network is a global multimedia platform focused on the motorsport and automotive industries. The Company operates a diverse range of platforms to deliver engaging content, community interaction, and innovative solutions to its audience. Theseinclude Motorsport.com, Autosport.com, Motor1.com, InsideEVs.com, and several other racing/automotive-focused websites. The network also comprises a vibrant social media presence and a streaming platform, Motorsport.tv, for seamless access to motorsport news,live coverage, videos, and exclusive interviews. The Company is seeking a Design Director to join its dynamic team.Location:Hybrid with at least three days a week in our New York HeadquartersReports to:This role reports to the Chief Product Officer and will partner with engineering, product, business, and editorial leads to deliver on aggressive growth goals.Position Overview:The Director of Design will serve as the hands-on strategic leader for all visual and UI/UX design elements across the media properties of Motorsport Network. This role is integral to defining and maintaining a unified design language that aligns with brandvalues while optimizing user experience across multiple media platforms.ÂKey Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Design Leadership
    • Maintain and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the organizationâs goals and objectives.
    • Work closely with the Chief Product Officer to understand product roadmaps and determine design priorities.
  • Team Management and Development
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing design team.
    • Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration to ensure seamless design execution.
  • Visual DesignÂ
    • Guide the conceptualization and execution of high-quality visual assets including graphics, illustrations, and interactive elements.
    • Establish and maintain visual design guidelines to ensure a consistent and coherent brand image.
    • Lead initiatives to improve the visual storytelling across various media channels.
  • User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design
    • Oversee the design of intuitive and visually compelling interfaces for web, mobile, and other media platforms.
    • Conduct usability tests, A/B tests, and analyze user feedback to continually improve the user experience.
  • Brand Identity and Consistency
    • Maintain brand consistency across all media properties.
    • Create and manage a design system to be employed across various products and platforms.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Liaise with other departments, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to ensure design is aligned with overall strategy.
    • Present design proposals and outcomes to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Budget and Resource Allocation
    • Manage design budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Performance Metrics
    • Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of design strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional media design experience, with at least 5 years in a hands-on leadership role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a track record of innovative design solutions in media or related industries.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
  • Exceptional skills in project management and team leadership including leveraging third party resources.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compensation:We expect the salary for this position to be in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.ÂApplication Process:Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and portfolio.The annual base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 with bonus opportunity.Motorsport Network Media LLC has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.
