Job Description

Job Title Derivatives Engineer (Java Developer) Location London Corporate Title Assistant Vice President You will be joining the Derivatives Trade Lifecycle team within Fixed Income & Currencies Technology as Java Engineer. The Trade Lifecycle team services the bank by implementing global trade capture and trade processing solutions, providing trade related datato several downstream systems. As a Java Engineer, we will support you as you will analyse and develop technical solutions to deliver business and information technology requirements. Your key responsibilities
  • Producing high quality Java applications with a focus on stability, simplicity and maintainability
  • Sharing a commitment to delivering a stable production platform. Providing third line support for both new and existing systems
  • Taking responsibility for applications throughout the SDLC process, from understanding requirements, to final delivery to production
  • Collaborate with colleagues working on other components in Rates technology to produce the best end-to-end solution for our clients
  • Contributing to a team drive towards technical excellence through knowledge sharing and documentation
Your skills and experience
  • Experience implementing Java software solution and working in the financial services industry
  • Experience of developing Java (must have) and C/C++ (desirable)
  • Understanding test driven development and agile methodologies as part of the SDLC (desirable)
  • Experience with UI languages/frameworks (.NET, Angular or React)
  • Oracle or other relational database experience
  • Linux platform experience (ability to understand the behavior of applications when deployed to a Linux platform)
  • Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers experience (desirable)
