Job Description

Empowering Learning are supporting an established SEN group who have recently opened a new nurture school service based in East London. The provision offers a nurture service for children with ASC and SEMH, aged 7 - 11 years of age.They are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Service who is able to take up the post with immediate effect on a permanent contract basis.The successful person joining will be focus on the developmental milestones and offer a holistic curriculum. Through this nurture approach, pupils will be able to improve their cognitive functioning and given the ability to learn through better emotional regulation. You will also lead the new nurture provision, ensuring the bespoke curriculum is delivered to a high quality and according to the principles of nurture and therapeutic education.There will be a strong focus on concrete, creative and playful teaching methods. The provision will cater for Key Stage 2 pupils with very complex needs who require an intensive nurturing and therapeutic approach to enable them to access the curriculum.This is an exciting time to join this SEN Group and become a part of the Senior Leadership Team for their new school.Key requirements of the role

  • Qualified primary education specialist with a minimum of 3 years senior leadership experience or qualified senior social worker.
  • NASENCo qualification or relevant Masters degree (E.g. Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Studies, Social Care)
  • Experience working with children with SEMH and ASC learning needs
