The publication of the white paper Integration and innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all will see the NHS undertake significant transformation as Integrated Care Systems are established and realise the vision of creating truly integrated systems, removing transactional burdens and ensuring accountability sits at the right level.Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of the NHS in England, this role will help manage and ensure that the NHS in England delivers the maximum possible benefit for patients and the public within the annual budget set by Parliament, through leading our national financial reporting, financial planning and control. The role also leads on the national NHS capital investment agenda and how we help systems in distress recover and deliver excellent services to patients. The postholder will be a high profile and visible leader to the NHS finance profession in England, and will lead an inclusive and talented team committed to delivering the integration agenda and the NHS Long Term Plan whilst ensuring financial sustainability for the future.This is a senior, intellectually-challenging leadership role which will operate in a complex and changing environment. The role therefore requires an exceptional and experienced senior leader who will be able to demonstrate outstanding relationship management skills and the ability to build credibility and trust with senior colleagues across the NHS and government.
