Job Description

This is an exciting role for a Demand Planner with leadership qualities to take on a new role with a growing multi-national FMCG business.Client DetailsMy client is one of the worlds largest FMCG food businesses globally who have continually exceeded its customers expectations for over 150 years of operation. They are continually growing in the UK and have a number of iconic award winning brands.DescriptionMy client is looking for a Demand Planning Manager UK/IE supporting the markets, by leading the planning team that consists of demand and requirement planners. The primary focus is on driving the long term, volume forecasting aspects of our S&OP process, ensuring stock availability to deliver high Customer Service levels in the short term. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demand & Promo/Activity planning, with the aim to provide a robust, statistically generated base rates at customer level for all SKUs over a rolling 6 months horizon
  • Provide stock management & availability processes to enable 98.5% levels customer service
  • Lead the S&OP meeting
  • Provide a realistic rolling 7-24 months volume forecast to support the S&OP process
  • Obsolete management (avoidance); identify obsolete risks, initiate and follow through required actions to avoid obsoletes
    • ProfileThey are seeking specialist Demand Planners who have experience working with large FMCG businesses. Skills & Qualifications include;
  • 6 years of experience in Supply Chain Roles with minimum 3 year of experience in Demand Planning and S&OP/SIOP/IBP process facilitation (including working knowledge of SAP APO).
  • Strong analytical skills: must feel comfortable working with several sources of data and information to identify relevant insights. Data gathering, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs.
  • Strong personal computer skills required, proficiency in the use of excel, including advanced spreadsheet tools.
  • Desirable but not mandatory: mathematical/statistical knowledge, demonstrated capability in modeling, analysis and simulations tools.
  • Strong leadership & communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in process and/or tools improvements initiatives. Continuous improvement mindset.
