About Delegated Authorities at Hiscox UK As part of the UK Underwriting standards and governance team the Delegated authorities team is responsible for setting, implementing and monitoring adherence to the overarching governance framework within regulatoryand Group requirements. The team are the hub of subject matter expertise for the business and therefore interact with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, both in an oversight role but also in an advisory and training capacity, working closelywith the Schemes & Partnerships team, where the majority of our Hiscox UK delegated authorities are represented.The delegated authorities regulatory and operational environment can be dynamic and complex. The standards set and overseen within the DelegatedAuthorities Team are therefore broad and varied, including; coverholder due diligence, distribution adequacy, underwriting compliance, conduct management information, contract governance, audit and breach management. We have a strong customer focus and a keydriver to our controls is to ensure the distribution chains we choose operate in our customers best interest.As our delegated authority business has evolved and grown our team is growing to enable us to support the business in operating within risk appetiteand regulatory requirements; whilst doing so efficiently and providing good service to our brokers, coverholders and customers. The role This growth and our drive for continuous improvement has resulted in broad and fast paced change to our delegated authoritystandards, systems and processes. This is a newly created role and you will play a key part in ensuring these changes are successfully implemented across the business, you will therefore need the attitude, knowledge and expertise to quickly move forward insupporting the DA Manager with the development, implementation and training of these processes.You will be required to develop and implement a Quality Assurance (QA) programme that will sit over all of our delegated authority controls and once embedded willensure we monitor compliance with these controls and their effectiveness. As your role evolves, you will continue to be a core part of the advisory and training the Delegated Authorities Team provides to the business and the QA outcomes will enable us to proactivelyinform these training needs.What youll be doing You will be responsible for the creation, implementation and embedding of an effective Quality Assurance (QA) process You will be responsible for the creation and ownership of reporting and MI of QA outcomesto ensure senior management visibility of DA health and control effectiveness You will assist with providing guidance to the business and the development and delivery of subject matter training You will assist the DA Manager with the ongoing development andimplementation of the minimum standards and processes in response to regulatory and Group requirements You will be an escalation point for new coverholder and delegated authority distribution reviews, recommendations and decisions, particularly those thatpresent higher risk Our must haves: Ability to independently manage own and others workload High level of attention to detail and accuracy Confident and able to challenge people, in the right way, at various levels of seniority 3 plus year commercial or insuranceexperience, ideally within in delegated authorities, schemes or associated regulatory or compliance background Our nice to haves Chartered Insurance (CII) status of Diploma or higher Degree qualified candidates preferred Previous experience in a quality assurancerole Project management or Lean processing experience or training We recognise the need for greater flexibility and know how important this is to you and are happy to consider flexible working options such as:Flexi: Flexible hours can be approved between 8.00- 6.00Hours: Advertised on 1.0 FTE basis however for the right candidate alternative working patterns would be considered.
