An expanding and innovativetechnology company is looking for a talented Systems Engineer with strong Linux and database administration skills to be based remotely, with some travel into the East London data centre as required (therefore needs to lives close to this location).Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure and joining an ambitious technical team, the successful candidate will betasked with BAU support, project workincluding an infrastructure rebuild for one business unit, as well asconfiguring and maintaining infrastructure to support the sizeable growth plans for another areaof the business. Other duties will include working closely with the development team to debug, tune and streamline the business applications.In order to be suitable for this requirement, you must have proven experience in a Linux Systems Administrator, IT Systems Engineer, Database Administrator or similar senior infrastructure-focusedrole in a fast-paced, dynamic business, ideally in the technology sector. It is essential to have in-depth Linux administration (CentOS / Redhat / Defora) experience as well as strong knowledge and experience of maintaining high-availabilitydatabase clusters (Mongo / Redis / MariaDB/ Galera / SQL Server / Postgres). Some exposure to search-engines(SOLR / Elasticsearch) and general networking skills is also required.Any experience / knowledge with web server administration, micro-services application architecture / builds or DevOps technologies (Git, ansible, docker, K8s...etc.) would be highly desirable, but is not essential.This Database & Linux Systems Engineer role represents an opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to join a dynamic business with extensive growth plans and excellent career prospects. This role is paying approximately £58,000 - £63,000 depending on experience plus benefits including pension, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, and 24 days annual leave.
