Job Description

Temporary Requirement: Database AdministratorMy client, a growing international not-for-profit based in the City of London is recruiting for a Database Adminstrator to join them on a 3 month contract.Location: London (agile working)Day Rate: £450 per day (inside of IR35)Tasks for the Database Administrator include:SQL optimisation / database administration

  • Review data, table structures, etc. and make recommendations to improve design, scalability, security, etc.
  • Database maintenance / tuning / optimisation ( e.g. add indexes, manage logs, disk space, etc.).
    • Ad-hoc support
  • For internal teams create queries, data sets etc.
  • This would mainly require the person to extract the data for end-users to perform analysis in excel, PowerBi and other visualisation tools. However, there will be some more complex work (complicated queries, joining of data, analysis) to support creating KPIS and key measures for senior managers and signatories (our customers).
    • Development
  • Review existing SQL code / stored procedures / automation/ etc.
  • Test new code/scripts in detail to find errors and defects
    • The succesfull Database Administrator needs the following experience:
  • Database Administration - proven experience in this role is essential
  • Back-end programming skills - Python, Java and R are preferred.
  • SQL database - Microsoft SQL is essential and then should have proven experience.
  • Cloud experience - Microsoft Azure is essential and they should have proven experience.
  • Experience with using GitHub, change control software, devops is advantageous.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools like PowerBi, Plotly is a nice to have.
