Job Description

About our clientOur client is a top-tier mid-market private equity firm,which is looking to bring a Data Scientist into their high performing team. This is a hugely exciting chance to join an established investor and support senior management regarding their efforts to helpportfolio companies unlock their data potential. This highly analytical position with work across a breadth of responsibilities across the whole portfolio, providing insight and analysis as well as creating new processes to store and make use of critical data. What the job involves

  • Engaging with management teams, aggregating raw data from our portfolio companies, and creating useful insights to help drive strategic decisions
  • Provide independent insight and analysis based on an operational and commercial basis to enhance business processes and reporting capability at each portfolio company
  • Oversee the technical responsibilities for investment in new reporting and data management technologies where required, to help the portfolio companies understand and gain comfort on the technical aspects
  • Creating new process and programs to accurately input and store critical data for portfolio companies and its wider business requirements
  • Design methods and processes to manage the portfolio performance via financial and non-financial KPIs, critically assessing anomalies in the data in real time
  • Manipulate and combine multiple data sets during the due dilligence phase of the investment, during the lifetime of the portfolio company and support during the exit process
Who we are looking for
  • Self-starter with a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Positive and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to self-direct their own time and productivity
  • Experience with accounting/investment systems would be desirable, (Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
  • Ability to manipulate data and scrutinise information form large data sets using a range of analytical tools
  • Strong project management expeirence operating with multiple stakeholders
