Data Scientist / Team Lead - Insurtech, Data Science (R, Python, Java, SQL), Machine Learning, RPA, ETL, Business Intelligence. Permanent, London. c£100k+ (Negotiable on Experience) +Bonus +BenefitsData Scientist / Team Lead required by Insurtech/Fintech company. Remaining very much in a hands-on capacity from a Lead Data Programming / Engineering capacity you will assume line management duties of a small team comprised of ETL Developers, Business Intelligence Analysts and Text Mining Data Scientists and have ultimate responsibility for helping product teams understand their data and drive output across multiple products. Working as the Lead Data Scientist you will lead the team from a hands-on line management perspective and be heavily involved throughout all parts of the data science project life cycle from design and architecture through programming and data engineering participating in Agile/Scrum environments and support deployments where necessary in a consultative fashion driving improvements throughout all aspects of this development life cycle. Working with large data sets (largely text) across multiple sources from within the business and its subsidiaries you will develop advanced data analysis techniques, customised modelling solutions and leverage Big Data from a data science perspective and feed these analytical capabilities into the ongoing development of systems for the business and its clientele worldwide. This will include aspects of Machine Learning, RPA, Artificial Intelligence and will require Data Scraping techniques to be applied. An understanding of API integration will be useful here and fluency in data mining programming languages including R, Python, Java and SQL. Personnel within the team will also be employing tools such as Hadoop, Talend (for ETL), working on AWS Redshift databases and employing data visualisation tools such as: YellowFin, Qlikview, Tableau and Business Objects.The successful Data Scientist / Team Lead will be a hands-on Data Scientist and Data Engineer/Programmer comfortable with all contemporary data science languages inc R, Python and Java. You will have led a small team at least and have demonstrable line management experience, teams as small as 3-4 personnel are fully acceptable. This experience will be combined with an in-depth knowledge of data and datawarehouing incorporating data mining, 3rd party API data scraping (ONS or clinical NHS data for example), machine learning, natural language processing, AI etc and have encompassed Business Intelligence aspects and data visualisation. A strong knowledge of APIs and Agile/Scrum methods will be required; Degree level education preferred; excellent communication skills pre-requisite.Excellent opportunity to join a global organisation with an exceptional reach and exciting products/platforms to play a key role in the development of the Data Science department within the business.
