Job Description

The Role We have been instructed by an industry leading global law firm who are seeking to fill the position of Legal Support Assistant/ Paralegal (12 Month Fixed Term Contract) to work alongside the Senior Partner of the Data Protection team.The role will be primarily data protection focused, however, there will also be exposure to other practice areas within the firm such as Real Estate, Employment and Dispute Resolution.Date Protection experience is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will have relevant professional history, strong academics including having completed the Legal Practice Course in addition to a positive can-do attitude.Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with legal research, including understanding, collating and summarising research findings
  • Assisting with reading track changes documents
  • Reading aloud from a variety of sources, including letters, books, contracts, legislation
  • Proof reading documents and emails and ensuring good quality output from a visual point of view
  • Attending conferences, seminars and other events, which may occasionally require overseas travel
Role Requirements
  • Fluent in English (spoken, reading and writing)
  • Strong academic results in your formal education (2:1 or higher), whereby you will hold a law degree or other degree with a conversion and LPC
  • Previous paralegal experience
  • Excellent analytical, communication and research skills
  • Ability to prioritise, take initiative, multitask and work collaboratively with others across various departments
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, grammar and punctuation in written communications
Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A keen interest in data protection law
