Job Description

Are you an organised individual with excellent communication skills Do you have proven experience managing data protection complianceOur client, a Top-100 UK Law Firm, are looking for a Data Protection Manager to join their team. They can be flexible on location, either London, Bath, Swindon, or Oxford. Occasional travel between offices is required.You will:

  • Ensure ongoing compliance by regularly updating and monitoring the firms policies and procedures
  • Manage Subject Access Requests and other data inquiries
  • Oversee the appointment and annual renewal of the EU Data Representative service
  • Provide advice on data protection/PECR implications for new business initiatives and address general queries
  • Maintain the firms Register of Processing Activities and risk assessments while advising on reported data breaches
  • Stay informed about changes in domestic and international data protection laws, updating policies accordingly, and lead the creation and delivery of data protection training for all staff members
Your skills:
  • Profound knowledge of UK data protection laws
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing subject access requests and crafting data protection-focused policies and procedures
  • Experience in providing advice on data protection breaches
  • Strong organisational skills with effective prioritisation abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with legal and business services colleagues; notable attention to detail and good commercial awareness
