Job Summary London Permanent BBBH798632 Nov 10, 2021 Competitive Job Description The Legal Arm for one of the Big 4 Audit & Accountancy Practice is recruiting for a Data Privacy Lawyer to join its London office The company This legal offering is a fastgrowing part of the clients business. They are recruiting for a Manager and Assistant Manager position to support the growth of the Data Protection team in the wider Commercial Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team which worksacross the client providing data protection solutions. The Data Protection team works with the different service lines within the clients business to provide its clients with complete data protection solutions. The role will include: Legal Advisory Data TransferAgreements Drafting policies and procedures Supporting clients with the data protection elements of their transformation programmes, including group restructuring, outsourcing, large scale technology programmes Provide advice to senior business leaders Independentlydraft and negotiate agreements Roles and Responsibilities: The applicant must be keen to develop and broaden his/her legal skills to include working on multi-disciplinary projects and being closer to the business side of these projects. The successful applicantwill be a self-starter and a strong performer and team player who is focussed on helping to ensure that the team successfully delivers projects for its clients. While consulting appropriately on difficult issues, he/she must be able to deliver robust and appropriatelegal advice and exercise sound judgement. The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility for servicing and building part of the existing business of the team. The successful applicant will help promote the teams work through participatingin team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing expert articles for publication. Experience in some of the following sectors would be considered helpful: Financial services (banking, insurance, investment management, paymentservices) Transportation (bus, rail, automobiles, mobility as a service) Energy Life Sciences Digital infrastructure, including telecoms and data centres Retail Qualifications and Skills: The applicant will be a data protection/commercial lawyer of at least3 years PQE with experience of advising on compliance with data protection laws including the rules around marketing. Assessing problems from multiple angles to ensure that our clients have comprehensive and pragmatic data protection advice to support theirdecision-making Working collaboratively to devise and driving forward creative legal solutions for clients Providing our clients with a seamless multi-disciplinary legal implementation service on national and global projects Experience and Background: Theapplicant will have experience in advising clients in the following areas: Data protection compliance issues GDPR/DPA compliance gap analysis Drafting information notices Assessment of joint controller status and drafting related data sharing agreements Draftingof compliant data protection policies and procedures Responding to data subject rights requests Preparing for and responding to data breach Data transfer/data sharing arrangements Liaising with the ICO on behalf of client who have received a complaint froma data subject FOIA Get in touch with Pippa Campbell (In-House Lead) on or to discuss the role further.
