Our central data team lives in our Tech org and reports to the VP of Data. In order to strengthen our data maturity and become truly data driven we are committed to:

What will you be doing You will be joining Funding Circles Data Management team and reporting to the head of the team.

• Data maturity revolution 2024 is going to be an incredibly exciting year at Funding Circle where we turbo-charge our data maturity. We are going to be launching data culture and data fluency programmes, enhancing self serve and data discovery, buildinga data glossary, upgrading our data quality tooling, and enhancing how we do data quality issue management.
• Data Management foundations in 2024 we will implement our refreshed Data Management Policy across the business, key aspects of this are the Data Management Responsibilities Model and the Data Criticality Framework. All of these will have comprehensive communicationsand roll out plans behind them to ensure successful adoption. Another key initiative in 2024, which this role will drive the creation of, will be the Business Glossary.
• Evangelisation as the Data Management Analyst you will be expected to support the roll out and adoption of the Data Management Policy, evangelise data management roles and responsibilities. Youll work closely with our domains during the roll out to makesure they understand their data management responsibilities and ensure they are set up for success
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Data Management team, the data team and across the business to help Funding Circle extract more value from its data. Help bridge the gap between the more technical areas of the data teamand the business. Partnering with our colleagues across the business but especially those in Data Product, Self-Serve Analytics, Data Platform, Information Security, Architecture, and Legal & Compliance.

• Continuous Learning : Keep up-to-date with advancements in data management and governance and best practices and actively contribute to the teams knowledge base through knowledge sharing.

What were looking for

• Excellent communicator We need someone who excels at communicating and storytelling especially when it comes to explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Relationship building and engagement is a fundamental part of this role and you shouldhave experience of this both within teams and across an organisation.
• Subject matter expertise Were ideally looking for someone with a good level of subject matter expertise in data management, data governance, data quality, and metadata. Previous experience of working within data management or governance in a financialservices environment would be an advantage but is by no means a requirement.
• Business & Technology literate We very much view Data Management as a function that adds value to the business, it is definitely not "a compliance thing". We tie business outcomes to everything we do and we measure the impact, and we are dedicated to findingthe right solutions that work for Funding Circle. You need to be as much a business person as a tech/data person in this role, after all we are all business people just with different specialities. You are dedicated to understanding requirements and deliveringsolutions aligned with business goals.
• Practical and a problem solver Funding Circle is a large multi-geo company and we need to build flexible and practical Data Management solutions that work for all areas of the business. Our policies and standards are deliberately built with the right amountof flexibility so we can adopt good data management practices as efficiently as possible.
• Collaborative Team Player : Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. All functions within the data team work together to enable each others work and work towards our shared vision and the company strategy.
• Continuous Learning and Adaptability : Commitment to staying updated on the latest developments in data management and governance. Ability to adapt to new tech & tooling, environments, and advances in the field.
