Job Description

Data Engineer (heavy GCP environment exp):

  • Remote first (client based in London).
  • 6 month Contract (outside IR35).
  • Circa £650 per day + (depending on exp).
    • Client and role for Data Engineer (heavy GCP environment exp)Were currently helping a global, award winning, digital media organisation to hire a Data Engineer with specific experience in GCP heavy environments on a 6 month contract in the team responsible for Data Technology.What you’ll be doing as a Data Engineer (heavy GCP environment exp):
  • You will mostly be programming in Scala, Apache Spark and running in GCP and AWS, but we use the tool that best fits the problem.
  • You will be working with data warehouse technologies including BigQuery, DBT, Dataproc and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow).
  • You will help build a new generation of tooling to support their data engineering projects and wider security across our GCP estate.
  • You will be working in a cross-functional team, which is empowered to rapidly iterate and release new features.
  • You won’t be coding in isolation - our culture is strongly collaborative, whether pair programming with other developers or working closely with editorial and commercial colleagues.
    • Skills and experience needed for Data Engineer (heavy GCP environment exp):As a data engineer, you will create and maintain their data pipeline. Youll be equally willing to create data tools for analytics, insights and business performance metrics whilst building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data.
  • You are Data Engineer with experience of GCP environments.
