Job Description

Title: Data EngineerEssential Tech criteria: Spark, Java, Spring & AWSEssential Industry Exposure: Financial Services (FS) & BankingLocation: Fully RemoteDuration: 6 Months + ExtensionsTarget Start Date: Monday 6th - Monday 13th March 2023Day Rate: £550 - £600 - Outside IR35The UKs leading Digital Solutions Providers is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Data Engineer (Contractor) to help oversee the E2E delivery across a long term and large-scale Digital Transformation programme for a FS/Banking client.This is starting with a small but wide impacting project that will provide significant value, while highlighting a better, more agile approach to using software and helping the customer to become truly data led.Essential Data Engineer Experience:

  • Strong/expert level hands-on coding experience in Spark
  • Experience coding in Java/Spring
  • Experience designing and building web environments on AWS, including working with services like S3, Amazon EMR and Kinesis Data Streams
  • Collaborative, able to work remotely, and still be an engaging team member
  • Strong analytical and design skills
  • Flexibility to work on CST hours as necessary
Highly Desirable:
  • Coding In Java/Spring and Scala
  • Data Pipeline Software, CI/CD And Devops
  • Cloud Architecture components in AWS
  • Ability to turn raw data and ambiguous business questions into distilled findings and recommendations for action
  • Statistical and machine learning libraries along with the ability to apply them appropriately to business problems
  • Terraform, kubernetes and docker in order to build, deliver, and scale containerized apps
  • Proficiency in front and back-end web application development stacks and frameworks (Javascript, HTML, CSS,
  • React/Vue/Angularjs) Including API Design (REST/Graphql) And Library Development
  • DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as ansible, artifactory, docker, github, jenkins, kubernetes, maven, and sonar qube
  • Experience leading and managing technical data/analytics/machine learning projects
