Job Description

Job Title: Data Analytics Operations ManagerLocation: London (Hybrid)Opportunity Overview:The role as Data Analytics Operations Manager (DAOM) is to provide coordination and support to the Group Head of Data Analytics and their leadership team in the delivery, roll out and adoption of our data and analytics strategy across the business.Using their knowledge of insurance processes and effective use of data to support better decision making, the DAOM will act as a business partner for the data office enabling a better engagement across the functions through improved transparency and effectivecommunications on progress at all levels.This will include supporting the Group Head of Data and Analytics with the comms strategy, data education program and continuous alignment with the Group Steering Committee.Key Responsibilities:Strategy and Planning:

  • Responsible for driving focus and prioritization within the Data Analytics organisation with strategic planning and governance principles and processes as defined by the Group Head of Data Analytics
  • Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of effectiveness of services, current issues and potential risks that may require Group Head of Data Analytics intervention
  • Support the ongoing development of the companies data connect portal, including the creation of key messages and articles, delivering announcements, and providing support to the users adopting the portal for their own comms needs
  • Provide the finance management for the data and analytics strategy rollout, working with analytical product leads to define and track budgets, support procurement with the delivery of the SOWs
  • Support the leadership team engagement with external delivery partners, ensuring the services we are receiving are adequate per the agreement and we address any issues in a timely fashion
  • Support the Group Head of Data Analytics with the delivery of companywide presentation including Townhalls, Steering Committees, Function Leadership sessions. This will include managing the backlog of action items that come from those sessions
  • Support the head of Group Head of Data Analytics with the comms and engagement of each executive board member
  • Support the delivery of the data education framework engaging with key data users in the business to help drive a focused training to meet all users needs
  • Support the delivery of our overarching comms strategy for Data and Analytics making sure that we are reaching everyone in the organization
  • Takes responsibility for special projects and other initiatives on behalf of the Group Head of Data Analytics
Policy, Process and Procedures:
  • Ensure adherence to and maintenance of relevant policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance - as well as performance management frameworks and metrics - to ensure the IT organisation delivers value to the enterprise
  • Ensures all applicable data analytics policies are up to date and relevant
  • Supports the implementation of the businesses strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets
  • Adheres to standards, instructions, and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
  • Refers upwards to ensure all policy, procedure and audit requirements are strictly adhered to and that solutions represent best practice
  • Undertakes reviews of reporting activities to identify, execute improvements that will increase efficiency

  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets business expectations.
  • Be hands-on and agile, demonstrating a "roll up your sleeves" mentality and willingness to remain initiative-taking in communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Fulfils ad-hoc project requests requiring senior project management capabilities and stakeholder management
  • Proactive in identifying improvements and solving problems
  • Ensures alignment to strategic data analytics business outcomes
  • Positively influences and collaborates with all Operations functions, areas outside of Operations and external parties as required
  • Exhibits the Aspen values on all interactions acting on behalf of the Group Head of Data Analytics
Requirements & Skills:
  • Business consultancy background
  • Proven record of providing support to strategic business planning activities and developing plans to enhance business profitability development in a similar organisation in financial services
  • Qualifications at degree level or equivalent in relevant subject (e.g., related to financial services or business)
  • Demonstrable evidence of building strong customer/ relationships
  • Experience of managing small teams
  • High level of numeric competence with an ability in complex data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Proficient in MS Office applications e.g., Excel and other departmental software packages
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
  • Able to plan effectively and efficiently
  • Strong customer orientation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Able to produce MI and detailed reports at various levels
