Credit Trading Intern

Job Description

Purpose of the role: Further develop Trading and Securities Financing (TSF) department capacity in data analytics for credit trading and conduct research on credit market structure and trading patterns, use this research as basis to develop trading strategies. Description of the department:Within our trading department TSFD (c. 75 employees across Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo), the intern will sit with our London Credit Trading team (3 traders) and will work hand in hand with traders to build tools for our credit trading teamsacross the world (23 dedicated Fixed Income Traders). The work will mostly be performed in Python and the intern will benefit from continuous feedback from trading as well as support from data science and electronic trading team. Away from trading teams, themain stakeholders will be Portfolio Managers, Quants, Economists and Strategists. Working with AXA IMs market data, the intern will have flexibility to research, build and work on a range of projects according to interns preferences. The main responsibilities of the role:- Using machine learning models, you will work to improve our understanding of the credit market structure and price patterns by analyzing our past trades and diverse market data available to the desk. - Work on models to forecast market impact of trades. - Build tools to help pre-trade tools for decision making and optimize our access to liquidity and minimize costs of trading. - Using quantitative tools, you will help the team in generating trade ideas (arbitrage, relative value, statistical fundamental analysis) - Support the Credit Trading team with ad-hoc requests (data extraction, reporting, setting up new securities...) Your ProfileProfile:• Education qualifications: 2nd year undergraduate student in Maths / Statistics / Econometrics / Computer Science • Technical skills : - Solid skills in Python coding and SQL are crucial. - Clustering and Tree based Machine Learning models (XGBoost, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks, Random Forest, KNN..). - Experience working with time series and market data and with solid knowledge of statistics and econometrics. • Key Competencies: - Ability to undertake and structure complex projects and record keep the progress made - Excellent Communication and ability to presenting complex ideas in a simple manner - Problem-solving attitude • Languages required: English , French a plus but not necessary • Any skills or experience which are desirable but not necessary : - Previous experience in Python coding or research projects using Python or other coding languages (C#, Matlab, R..) conducted during studies or previous professional experiences. - Interest in recent developments and basic knowledge of AI and LLMs (including NLPs, generative AI) - Knowledge of Credit markets, basics of bond math - Basic knowledge of Bloomberg About AXAWould you like to wake up every day driven and inspired by our noble mission and to work together as one global team to empower people to live a better life Here at AXA we strive to lead the transformation of our industry.
