Credit Associate role based in London forming part of the Emerging Markets team covering Emerging Europe and Africa within Wholesale Credit Risk EMEA. The team covers corporate, financial institutions and sovereign related entities across CEE, Russia andCIS, Turkey and Central Asia and Africa. Responsibilities include due diligence, structuring, risk grading, and the on-going monitoring and management of a diverse and complex portfolio of traditional credit products, derivatives and securities trading relationships,intraday liquidity facilities. Associate responsibilities also include collaborating across credit risk and the business teams to meet client credit requests, while balancing the risk-return needs of the Firm, more specifically: Structuring, negotiating anddocumenting new transactions including syndicated loans, bilateral loans and complex derivatives Facilitating flow business by establishing documentation and maintaining limits for trade finance and derivatives (e.g. interest rate swaps, FX, Repos, commodities)Project managing the execution, closing, funding and syndication of transactions From a credit and agency perspective, managing all amendments, waivers and structural changes on transactions Ongoing credit relationship management of portfolio companies Ongoingcredit risk portfolio management Developing a well-informed and forward looking view of the client business Helping to drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements The role will involve: Responsibility for approving and/or recommendingand escalating approvals including new transactions, deal amendments and ongoing portfolio management Working alongside senior bankers on more complex transactions Working with IB coverage bankers, Corporate Bankers and product groups (FX, Derivatives, DebtCapital Markets and Commodities) in conjunction with live transactions Becoming an expert on the region: keeping up to date with the political and macroeconomic environment as well as having an in-depth knowledge of clients in the portfolio Working with creditindustry specialists in London. Documenting new transactions and amendments to existing transactions in conjunction with legal counsel. Maintaining connectivity with Credit colleagues to stay aware of overall market developments, best practices as well astraining and development. Key Skills and Experience: Demonstrate strong credit skills and judgment, with an intensive hands on approach to analyzing the details of credit and structure Have good knowledge of transaction structures, documentation and bankingproducts sufficient to assist with (or sometimes lead) the execution of new deals and amendments Strong interpersonal skills. Be able to establish credibility and trust with clients, product specialists and credit executives, and to partner with them effectivelyStrong analytical and numerical skills Strong communication skills Ability to think laterally around risk particularly outside of credit risk Relevant experience carrying out a similar position/function in a comparable environment Degree qualified
