Job Description Global bank seeks Head of Credit, Financial Sponsors, to lead the Team and Manage the credit quality of our Financial Sponsors portfolio, overseeing Fund Finance to a wide range of counterparties. As Head of Credit, Financial Sponsors, you will lead the Team and Manage the credit quality of our Financial Sponsors portfolio, overseeing Fund Finance to Top Tier Private Equity, Secondaries and Private Debt Managers. This is a very exciting time for a sectorthat the Bank has earmarked for growth. We support these private market Fund Managers through the provision of Capital Call facilities where recourse is to Institutional investors, helping Managers to bridge timing between fund investments and making capital calls to investors. This is supplemented by disciplined growth in Gearing (secured against fund assets rather than investors), and to a lesser extent Liquidity and General Partner (GP) support facilities. We also oversee a significant FX book to support clients when hedging investmentsin different currencies (typically vanilla forward FX or spot). Job DescriptionWere looking for someone with significant experience in Fund lending with a keen eye for detail and a growth mindset. You will have experience leading teams, setting objectives and embedding a culture of individual and team performance excellence. You willbe a senior member of the FI Credit Leadership team as well as being the Sector Head for Financial Sponsors, supporting and constructively challenging the business, helping to structure robust, commercially viable deals and shape strategy. Youll demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, shaping and reviewing the terms of complex transactions and you will be empowered to make decisions with a sizeable delegated credit authority. Well also expect you to contribute to the design and delivery of sector strategy, appetite, credit policies and processes to help manage the portfolio, and you will be a trusted business partner who can be a role model across FI Credit We are passionate about our people, and we have a huge focus on empowerment, career progression, learning & development, agility and work-life balance. As a Sector Head you will also engage with and support the wider team in FI Credit including Securitisation,Clearing Houses & Intermediaries, Sovereigns, Banks & Intra-group, and Insurance. Experience wise, we are looking for someone who has:
  • 10 years credit experience as a minimum, demonstrating an ability to assess credit risk, shape deal structures and lead client due diligence meetings.
  • Rounded leadership skills, able to articulate your vision and bring out the best in people.
  • Great organizational skills, able to juggle competing priorities while effectively focusing on what matters most.
  • Demonstrable track record in making decisions and ability to communicate succinctly and efficiently in a clear and unambiguous manner.
  • A real excitement for personal development & performance management, up-skilling and cross training and for supporting the development of other team members
  • Great social skills and keen to build trusted relationships with team and business partners, while being comfortable with radically candid (open & honest) conversations.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Funds sector, including trends, horizon risks and regulation.
  • Significant expertise with Fund Finance lending products, such as Capital Call Facilities, Gearing (Asset recourse) facilities and Liquidity facilities. You will also have a good working knowledge of Continuation Funds and General Partner Support facilities.
  • Good understanding of derivative products - particularly FX.
  • Strong Experience in negotiating lending and ISDA documentation.
  • Held Credit Authority in past roles and demonstrated leadership ability in a credit role.
