Job Description

An award-winning practice specialising in intelligent and pioneering design, is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their team. Based in central London, the practice now has over 160 people and is working on many exciting and innovativeprojects throughout the UK for leading developers and architects.About the role:We are currently looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a permanent full time basis. This role will assist with the production of management information around debtors for financial updates as well as evaluating and improving the currentcredit control processes.Responsibilities:

  • Banking cheques and posting receipts / reconciling collections with the bank
  • Making calls and sending emails to chasing outstanding debts
  • Liaising with Associate Directors to discuss their outstanding debtors monthly
  • Coordinating the process to resolve client queries and raising of credit notes where appropriate
  • Oversee the setting up new customers on the system, including due diligence to ensure the correct entity.
  • Managing the litigation process where appropriate with support of the Finance Manager/external credit management agency
  • Work collaboratively with the billing and wider team to enhance sales ledger and credit control processes including formalising debt collection processes, creating dashboards, automating internal and external statements, etc
  • Improve analytics on cash collected vs target data.
  • Develop a method of classification of clients with regards to credit risks. Evaluate possibility of a credit check process.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc tasks requested by the Finance Manager
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • 3+ years sales ledger/ credit controller experience
  • Xero accounting software experience
  • CMAP or similar practice management software (e.g. Workday, Rapport3)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (vlookup/sumifs/pivots etc)
  • Commercial experience in an architectural, engineering industry (preferred).
  • Studying towards CICM qualification, or similar (e.g. CIMA)
