Job Description

We’re working with a London based University to recruit a Credit Control Administrator.The post holder will support the credit control activities through the daily administration of debt recovery procedures in line with University’s debt management policies, in relation to the annual recovery of Student fees and charges, and debt relatingto ex-students.Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for query resolution in relation to student debtor accounts
  • Liaise internally to correct any erroneous entries and minimise the debt outstanding period
  • Maintain an audit trail of credit control activities and collection history on MISIS
  • Actively chase debt by liaising with students over the phone, email and and by face to face
  • Assess student financial circumstances to make recommendations for non-standard instalment plans
  • Liaise with the Student Loans Company (SLC) with regards to student tuition fee contribution queries and to investigate and resolve reasons for non-payment
  • Support the student and sponsor invoice process
  • Assist with the operation of system based debt collection processes when required
  • Responsible for promptly resolving queries and disputes in relation to student debts referred to external debt collection agencies and / or courts for collection
  • Support the student tuition fee and accommodation fee refund process
Candidate profile:
  • Experience of credit control in a large, diverse organisation using computerised systems
  • Experience of credit control on high-volume, low-value debtor accounts
  • Experience of downloading data, data manipulation using spreadsheet tools, mail merge and reconciliations
  • Excellent inter-personal skills to ensure effective communication with staff, students and other customers
  • Good written communication skills including the ability to draft routine credit control correspondence
Job information:
  • Hourly rate: £17 - £19
  • Contract Length: 6 months interim, with possibility of further extension
  • Hybrid working (1 day in office, 4 days working from home)
