Job Description

We are working with an international law firm, that is looking to hire a Corporate Knowledge Development Lawyer for their London team for a 12 month assignment, to start ASAP.The successful Lawyer will support the firms corporate practice, and will work closely with the Lead Corporate Knowledge Development Lawyer.Prior experience in a Knowledge Development Lawyer, Practice Development Lawyer or Professional Support Lawyer role would be great, but not essential.If prior experience within a KDL role is not present, individuals will need to demonstrate strong corporate law experience, an eagerness to transition into a KDL role and some exposure to providing training and contributing to know-how.Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and maintaining precedents, automated documents, practice notes, checklists, toolkits, clause banks and other forms of know-how
  • Facilitating and leading know-how meetings to ensure new developments, legal and practical knowledge and experience is shared
  • Working collaboratively with teams and knowledge Partners to identify external knowledge resources required by the group
  • Developing, co-ordinating and, where appropriate, delivering training
  • Assisting fee-earners with technical queries
  • Working with the knowledge Partners and other key stakeholders, to identify opportunities to use new technology or processes to improve service delivery
Successful Lawyers are likely to demonstrate:
  • Qualification as a Solicitor
  • Upwards of 7 years PQE as a corporate Lawyer or a corporate KDL/PDL/PSL Lawyer
  • Experience gained within notable law firms in the UK
  • A genuine interest, or experience, in working as a corporate knowledge development Lawyer - being involved in training, contributing to know-how and precedents
  • Experience in innovation technology (such as document automation and AI) would be advantageous, but not essential
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The ability to commit to a 12 month contract
  • Capacity to start a new role immediately or at short notice
