Learn more about us here OverviewAgency Securities Lending (ASL) is a significant growth area for Deutsche Bank, enabling our client investment funds to earn additional yield on their investments by lending their securities out in the market. ASL has also launched an innovative new productenabling our clients holding high cash balances to earn extra yield by investing their cash balances in short-term instruments. The ASL business is a global business that runs on a single legacy front-to-back trading system which is being re-engineered intoa modern cloud-native microservices architecture over the next 2 years. As a Lead Engineer within ASL technology, you will be a key player in the re-engineering program, taking charge of End-to-End delivery of implementing functionally complex requirementsinto a well-designed technical solution. This is primarily a professional Contributor expert role, and you will be responsible and accountable for engaging with stakeholders to understand complex requirements, formulating a sustainable technical solution,and designing and coding the most complex deliveries within the overall re-engineering program. What Youll Do

• Java application development in an agile collaborative environment while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to development & testing
• Design and develop complex microservice-based and Cloud-native application components in accordance with requirements specification
• Partner with business analysts and stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones to understand requirements and convert the requirements into a well-engineered solution
• Co-working with Quality Assurance (QA) team on test automation of new and existing functionality
• Lead technical discussions, architecture decisions and specifications
• Mentor and direct more junior developers

How Youll Lead

• You will lead by example through the quality of your technical deliverables
• Mentor junior engineers and providing insight
• Partner with the product team, enterprise infrastructure architects and engineers in test to optimize the solution delivery by integrating with appropriate control frameworks
• Partner with enterprise risk team and production services to ensure continuous adherence to technology policies including technology roadmap compliance
• Collaborate, maintain clear and open communication with the team, and share experience with entire Engineering organization

Skills Youll Need

• Extensive development experience in Java, Spring-boot, Oracle, and writing complex Structured Query Language (SQL) queries tuned for performance
• Knowledge of designing and implementing distributed enterprise applications with Microservices and designing and implementation of Application Programming Interface (APIs) - Rest Services, Open APIs
• Experience implementing applications onto Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or any other Cloud Platforms
• Knowledge of container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift), Unix shell scripting and modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications using Test Driven Development (TDD) and experience with all Agile software development frameworks and processes, and software design

Skills That Will Help You Excel

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken ; Self-starter and a go getter
• Structured approach to problem solving and strong analytical skills; Expertise in Kotlin is a huge bonus
• Experience with Kafka message/event stream-processing is a plus
• Expertise in PL/SQL to understand legacy code to be re-engineered
• You stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to interesting problems; You share your expertise with the entire Engineering organization

ExpectationsIt is the Banks expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Banks hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in Cary is $125K to $180K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidates skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
