Job Description

Corporate Assistant Accountant - REAL ESTATE - 6 Months Contract. OUR CLIENT are an international private investment company specialising in commercial property value add opportunistic investment with assets under management of $billionsin real estate. Respected by institutional and private equity investors worldwide, with decades of experience in the global real estate market, and ownership and management of some of the biggest independent investment and asset management platforms in Europeand Asia-Pacific. They are now looking for a Corporate Assistant Accountant who will provide a cover on a 6-month contract basis and who will be working in in the Corporate Finance Team that is responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance operations of the company and its subsidiary companies in Spain, Netherlands and Germany. The teamis also supported by external service providers in each European country in which the Client operates. This role will support the Financial Controller with the monthly management accounts, annual financial reporting, budgeting, and all aspects of operationalfinance including payroll and fee invoicing for Clients growing European business.THE ROLE of Corporate Assistant Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will undertake below listed, but not limited duties:

  • Assisting with preparation of the monthly management accounts including analysis of income and expense variances to budget and preparation of AUM reporting.
  • Preparing invoices and underlying calculations for fee income and cost recharges to the funds.
  • Supporting the accounts payable and expense claims processes for all European entities.
  • Administering the monthly payroll process with local payroll providers for all European entities.
  • Assisting with the audit of the UK company and providing information for annual statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process and ongoing regional actual v budget analysis.
  • Working with other Corporate Finance team members to improve reporting including through use of Xeros Fathom reporting tool.
  • Assisting with ongoing finance process improvements and the documentation of processes and controls.
  • Providing overall support to other Corporate Finance Team members.
THE PERSON: To apply for this role as a Corporate Assistant Accountant you will need to meet below set criteria:
  • Qualified AAT or part qualified or be studying for recognised accounting qualification.
  • Prior experience working in a finance team.
  • Property/fund management industry knowledge desirable.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience a relevant accounting system.
  • Experience working with third party service providers.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to handle a wide variety of tasks and pick up new tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a positive can-do attitude, keen to make improvements.
  • Building good relationships with other team members including senior managers.
  • Professional in dealings with external service providers.
  • Possess good communication skills both verbal and written.
