Job Description

Are you an ACA/ACCA part qualified, finalist, or newly qualified accountantAre you ambitious, hard working, and eager to pursue an Accounting career in Private EquityI have exclusively partnered with an exciting London-based PE house that is looking to add an Corporate Accountant to their team.They are in a period of high growth, meaning that there is the opportunity to progress quickly as the business grows!Introduction to our client:Our client currently has 3 open funds representing over $2bn, with the aim of opening a further 2 in the near future.HQ is in Mayfair, with offices in 9 countries globally.They are currently going through an exciting growth phase which has seen them more than double their headcount in the last 18 months.Corporate Accountant role:This role will focus on the corporate accounting for the management company. The role will include, but is not limited, to the following duties:

  • Corporate / Management company accounting.
  • Maintenance of accurate ledgers in cloud-based accounting software of the management company books and records.
  • Coordination of the accounts payable and receivable processes, being the first point of contact.
  • Responsible for running and leading the weekly payment process and the weekly bank/cash reconciliation, and for preparing the rolling cash forecasts.
  • Prepare and issue advisory fees and cost recharge invoices.
  • Prepare the monthly recharges to the Funds and articulate with the fund administrators for settlement.
  • Maintain and administer monthly credit card and staff cash expense claim processing and reclaims processes.
  • Preparing monthly expense analytics in a management reporting view, fully understanding cost drivers and reasons for variances
  • Manage the external payroll provider to ensure salaries are paid correctly and on time.
  • Pension preparation and submission.
  • Prepare workings and submit monthly VAT returns (supported by the accounting package).
  • Support the Group Financial Controller in the preparation of the Group management accounts.
  • Assist the Finance team in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities and lead ad-hoc projects to improve efficiencies, systems and processes and/or improve productivity and/or save costs.
  • General ad hoc requests from the CFO or Partners.
Candidate experience and profile
  • ACA/ACCA newly qualified or part qualified studying towards qualification.
  • Good command of Excel.
  • Prior experience with dealing with multi-currencies (preferred).
  • Prior experience operating in a group setting comprised of more than one single legal entity and exposure to intercompany accounting implications (preferred).
  • Prior experience operating in the Funds space (other Private Equity managers or Asset Managers).
  • Very organised and has an ability to deliver within tight deadlines and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, proactive, energetic, and forward-thinking anticipating business needs before they arise.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take the initiative.
  • Diligent and conscientious
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Confident to deal with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive and the ability to work with different levels of management and across different functions and teams.
  • Ambition to work towards an accounting qualification and/or progress within the role.
