Job Description

Construction QS We are a small and friendly but dynamic, high performing team. Out office is located in the grounds of a country estate with ample parking. We have over 25 years experience in the construction industry. Whilst operating across all key markets we specialisein healthcare and education. We are proud to have a successful long standing and respected relationship with the NHS Trust. We are also a fully certified BM Trada contractor offering supply, installation and maintenance of fire doors.The Role:

  • The successful candidate must have Construction/Quantity Surveying qualifications or equivalent extensive experience in commercial projects and a proven track record working for a main contractor. Experience of working with the NHS is desirable but notessential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Sourcing prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Complete and submit tenders.
  • Monitor costs and financial progress throughout each project.
  • Prepare and issue variation cost forecasts as required.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities and prepare monthly valuations for the client.
  • Attend meetings with clients and architects as required.
  • Support other members of the commercial team.
  • Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts.
  • Identify areas to improve margin.
Skills:
  • The ability to manage your own project workload.
  • Proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel.
  • Effective communications skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of building and construction industry.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
