Job Description

Our client, an innovative and fast-growing technology retail business, seeks a Compliance Manager on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave.Reporting to the Head of Legal, the Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the UK Partner Compliance Monitoring Programme, including monthly self-assessments, highlighting potential issues and ensuring remedial action is taken to mitigate against future issues. You will help facilitate compliance training for both field-based and head office teams as well as act as the point of contact for the UK leadership team on compliance matters.In addition, you will review no-compliant insurance transactions and identify trends, instigate investigations where necessary and ensure that appropriate action is taken.This is a broad role requiring someone with strong prior experience in internal compliance and/or risk management, with knowledge of internal controls frameworks, ideally gained within a retail environment.Due to the nature of the role, only candidates available to star work on 12th April or before need apply.Skills / experience / attributes:

  • Strong prior experience in internal compliance and/ or risk management functions with particular experience in operationalising compliance frameworks at scale.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory risks, processes and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of control frameworks and the ability to design and evaluate the effectiveness of controls embedded within business processes.
  • Program or project management experience; solid understanding of compliance and project management practices and tools.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with strong ability to translate concepts into clear steps and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • A consensus builder with great people skills, who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with multiple functions and collaborators throughout the organisation to get needed information and solve complex problems.
  • Highly motivated, with the drive to work independently, plan and accomplish goals, manage and prioritise projects with deadlines, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment.
