Are you a comms professional who is looking for an exciting opportunity where no 2 days are the sameDo you have press office experience as well as crisis communicationsAre you comfortable working a shift rota patternIf you answered yes to all these questions, read on and apply.The Metropolitan Police Service is currently recruiting for a number of communications managers to join the team for a 6 month contract.The rate offered for the role will be £500 - £600 per day umbrella (inside IR35).The successful candidates will work a 5 days week but across a seven-day rota. This team operates a shift basis to provide a service from 7am to 11pm. Shifts are 8 hour long. However you would only be expected to work out of hours once you have been fullytrained.JOB PURPOSEThere is no greater mission than keeping the public safe. This communications role is integral to the success of the Metropolitan Police Service.These roles provide career-enhancing experience in incident and reputation management. You will form part of a large team who deliver a 24/7 service, responsible for reactive communications including media inquiries and engagement across digital channels.You will also provide integral support to spontaneous and planned events, including protest and disorder as well as large-scale gatherings and festivals and ceremonial events.You and your colleagues will provide support to frontline officers, respond to media inquiries and monitor public commentary around the clock. You will also undertake media monitoring, working with colleagues from the content and channels team to providea rapid response service to the MPS - delivering response and rebuttal across digital channels.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
