Job Description

Communications Manager- Chase UK - London - 9 months contract - Hybrid - PAYEWe are seeking an experienced and talented Communications Manager to join Chase UK, JP Morgans digital consumer bank in London on an initial 9 months contract. You will be responsible for developing and executing our external communications strategies,with a particular focus on consumer PR.Working closely with the Communications Lead, you will play an integral role creating campaigns to help the business reach its commercial and operational objectives, while also helping to run our proactive media relations programme. Youll pitch storiesto press, handle reactive queries, draft media materials, and develop and maintain good working relationship with the media and key stakeholders.If you have a background working in PR and media relations, and are able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment, this is a fantastic opportunity.What youll do

  • Develop and execute external communications strategies that drive business outcomes - with a specific focus on consumer campaigns
  • Manage a proactive media relations programme for key spokespeople with print, online, and broadcast media
  • Handle reactive media queries as part of a small but busy communications team
  • Develop and execute proactive opportunities to tell our story in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists
  • Researching and writing press releases, briefing materials, and other communications content - with a keen eye for creating data-led PR stories
  • Developing and maintain a good working relationship with the media and key external stakeholders - across consumer, personal finance, and banking media
  • Manage external editorial calendar to ensure a strong pipeline of relevant and timely content
  • Manage PR agency on campaign execution, and measurement
Key qualifications
  • Extensive professional communications / PR experience
  • Background working in media relations in either a financial services or highly regulated organisation
  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism preferred
  • Strategic thinking, attention to detail and tactical execution skills
  • Strong writing ability; strong editing skills; web knowledge/digital savvy
  • Ability to effectively partner with direct management, team members and other stakeholders
  • Be used to working in an agile and digital-focused environment
  • Be an excellent multi-tasker with exceptional organisational abilities
  • Close attention to detail on events, written work and strategic advice
  • Commitment to maintaining the firms high standards related to risk, compliance and the Code of Conduct
  • Strong project manager and multi-tasker, comfortable in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and accepts accountability and responsibility
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours depending on business needs (due to events etc)
*Please note that this role will be working on a hybrid model of 3 days minimum office based and up to 2 days WFH.*
