Job Description

Cloud Engineer, Azure Specialist, IAAS, Fully remoteCloud Engineer/Consultant required for a leading private sector organisation.Engagement is OUTSIDE IR35.The successful applicant will have a background working with a high performing cloud-based application infrastructure and a solid background managing environment for applications.You will provide services for a IAAS to PAAS migration project.This will be an entirely Agile environment, running good practices and pushing boundaries.This opportunity will be working with an innovative platform, a highly flexible, agile web-based code configuration tool. It has been used to deliver user systems as diverse domains such as parcel delivery, utilities, B2B/B2C sales and contact centres.General responsibilities: -

  • Responsible for ensuring all environments (hosted and local) are secure, reliable and performant.
  • Working closely with the Product & DevOps teams to provide an extra layer of insight for the successful development and deployment of highly secure and highly available IaaS and PaaS based solutions.
  • Work closely with DevOps and QA to migrate from IaaS to PaaS.
  • Improving Azure Resources (VMS, app services , cosmos db)
  • Support the security refinement project & play a role in advising on the best practises.
  • Support the performance, scale, and reliability projects
  • Ensuring suppliers are managed appropriately and provide complimentary services to the team.
Required Experience: -
  • Relevant Cloud/Azure professional consultancy experience (hands on)
  • Experience influencing the performance, scale and security of an app in a large environment, 1000 users plus
  • Experience of infrastructure architecture with predominantly a Microsoft based stack including AD, IIS, SQL Server with a focus on security, scalability and performance.
  • Experience of defining & implementing infrastructure strategies with leading technical projects through the full life cycle.
  • Ideally will have experience working in an ISO 27001and PCI DDS certified environment.
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
  • Experience with Disaster recovery & Business continuity.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills
