Clinical Physiologist Band 5Full time – 37.5 hours per weekRespiratory Physiology – Lung Function and Sleep UnitSt George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London.The service is an ever expanding department, not just in patient numbers but service development, teaching and research. We are looking for a skilled, hard-working, motivated and friendly clinical physiologist to make a difference in this brand new post. Part of the role will involve working autonomously, therefore the ability to work both independently and as part of a team as well as a commitment to providing a high quality service is essential.As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform a full range of lung function investigations including reversibility and skin prick testing. The sleep service is large and you will need to have an excellent understanding of diagnostic sleep testing, analysis of respiratory sleep studies including pulse oximetry and transcutaneous CO2 monitoring, and CPAP treatment including titration, trouble shooting, advice and maintenance in conjunction with the wider respiratory team.As a prestigious teaching hospital we are closely linked to the University and play a role in the teaching of students. You will be expected to play a role in the education and training of respiratory physiology students as well as other healthcare professionals including physiotherapists, nursing staff, medical students and junior doctors. Appropriate support and training will be offered.Please note, the role may include working cross-site and three-session working.A Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science BSc or equivalent is required. ARTP Practitioner level desired if degree differs. Current Yr 3 BSc Healthcare Science students will be accepted and supported.
