Job Description

Client Portfolio ManagerAre you an ambitious qualified (or finalist) accountant working in practice, seeking to find a more senior role and excellent future prospects Our client, based in London has an opportunity for a Client Portfolio Manager who can work in the firm’s offices or from home.You will be responsible for ensuring all clients’ accounting is completed accurately and on time by the outsourcing department before being presented to the client. The successful candidate will be an all-round commercial accountant who has the potential to grow into a more senior profit-share role.The Client Portfolio Manager role responsibilities The client manager will look after c. 90 clients, the majority of which will be micro limited companies with daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing the production and timely delivery of a full range of accounting services and support including:

  • Bookkeeping
  • Salaries and wages
  • VAT returns
  • Corporation tax
  • Personal tax
  • Management accounting
  • Statutory filing and reporting
  • Budgeting and modelling
  • Dividend and tax optimisation
  • Commercial advice to clients
    • Your role will be to review and check work done by your team; however you should also be hands-on and able to resolve issues and problems.A key aspect of the role is to build client relationships so you can add value to clients through your accounting and tax knowledge as well as commercial experience and awareness.The ideal person for the Client Portfolio Manager roleIt is likely, but not essential, you will have begun your career in practice, gaining experience of bookkeeping, preparation of management and statutory accounts, VAT, corporation and personal tax. You will be knowledgeable in how the taxes interact, and able to convey that to clients. A commercial awareness and eagerness to add value to clients will be an essential part of your journey to profit-share.The practiceThe practice provides a full accounting and business support service to start-up and micro clients, many of which are tech entrepreneurs, investors and founders of owner managed businesses.
